Idaho court costs
Idaho probate filing cost: not published
Idaho Code § 31-3201A(1) sets the district-court civil filing fee at $175 generally, "except for those cases to be assigned to the magistrate division of the district court for which the fee shall be one hundred twenty dollars ($120)". Probate is heard in the magistrate division, so the base magistrate fee is $120. But § 31-3201A charges that fee "in addition to" the charges imposed by § 1-2003 (+$26 for a decedent's-estate civil case), § 31-3201 (+$10 administrative surcharge) and § 73-213 (+$10), making the true opening cost at least $166. Because those three additional charges are imposed by separate statutes not yet registered here as verified sources, the opening fee is published as variable rather than as an unsupported fixed number. The § 15-3-1201 affidavit route is presented directly to the debtor/holder and requires no court filing or fee.

Why Idaho has no statewide figure
Idaho Code § 31-3201A sets the magistrate-division civil filing fee at $120, but its opening clause charges that fee "in addition to the fees and charges imposed by chapter 20, title 1, Idaho Code [§ 1-2003], and by section 31-3201, Idaho Code, and in addition to the fee levied by chapter 2, title 73, Idaho Code [§ 73-213]." Those three cross-referenced sections each impose a mandatory statewide charge on a decedent's-estate probate filed in the magistrate division: § 1-2003 adds $26, § 31-3201(3) adds a $10 administrative surcharge, and § 73-213 adds $10, so the true opening cost is at least $166 and $120 is incomplete. This site does not publish that $166 as a fixed figure because each additional charge is imposed by a separate statute that is not yet registered here as a bound, digest-authenticated source; publishing a total whose components cannot each be tied to their own verified source would violate the site's source-fidelity rule. Where the amount is set: Idaho Code § 31-3201A(1) (in addition to §§ 1-2003, 31-3201 and 73-213).
