Report a correction
Send the page, the claim and the public source. Updated .
Every figure on this site is meant to trace to a statute, a court rule or a court-published fee schedule, and each state page names the section it relies on. When a legislature amends a small-estate limit, a clerk changes a filing fee, or a court moves a form, the page can be wrong until the next scheduled re-verification catches it. A report from a reader who has the current source in front of them is the fastest way to close that gap.
The most useful report names one page, quotes the sentence or number you think is wrong, and links the official source that shows the right one: the legislature's code page, the session law, the court's fee schedule or the form itself. For a calculator problem, describe a made-up estate that reproduces it (for example, "a $40,000 bank account and no real property, death in March 2026") and say what you expected to see.
Do not send names, dates of birth, the real date of death, account numbers, case numbers, court documents or anything else that identifies a real estate or family. None of it is needed to check a statute, and the form cannot keep it confidential.
What happens to a report
A receipt means the report was stored, not that its reading of the law has been accepted. The editors re-read the cited source, and where the page is wrong they correct the record, re-run the source verification for that statute, and log the change with its date on thechangelog. How sources are checked is set out in themethodology and the editorial policy. A reply address is used only to ask about or answer that report; it is never added to a mailing list. What the form stores, and how to have a report deleted, is in theprivacy policy.
This channel cannot give legal advice about an estate, tell you which procedure to use, or review a will or an inventory. For those, contact the probate court clerk in the county where the estate will be opened or a licensed attorney in that state.
If the form is unavailable, write to corrections@estatesettlementcost.com with the same three things: the page, the claim and the source. Privacy and data questions go to privacy@estatesettlementcost.com.
